At hiimfxu, our inspirations are drawn from the stories and journeys of the (H)Mong people. Their love and heritage are reflected in each of our handcrafted artisanal products. We are proud to continue their unique traditions and crafts and to reinterpret them for a contemporary audience. We believe that by remembering ones distinctive identity, one can truly understand and appreciate others. For this reason, we share our story with you in hopes that you will share yours with us.

The (H)Mong are a nomadic hilltribe and their immigration from Laos to the United States was an unexpected one. Throughout their history, their ability to remain loyal to their heritage while adapting to their surroundings has been one of their greatest strengths. The journey to the west has been no exception, and as before, adaptation has been a huge factor in the success of the (H)Mong in America. The community is ever changing and evolving. At hiimfxu, we are a reflection of that evolution.

Fong Xiong, who is the Founder|Creative Director of hiimfxu is (H)Mong. He has been in the fashion industry for over a decade and has worked with many top designers. Having lived in Asia, Europe and America, his journey has always been to better understand himself through experiencing the world and its cultures. He never imagined that with all the roads he’s traveled, one of the most self-fulfilling roads would be the unexpected sabbatical he started in 2014. During this creative re-defining time, he came full circle and started hiimfxu, not only as a way to showcase and share his beautiful heritage but most importantly to start a dialog of pride and preservation.
